13-inch MacBook/2.16GHz (white)

The May 2007 update to the MacBook line bumped this model's processor from 2GHz to 2.16GHz and its hard drive from 80GB to 120GB. The SuperDrive has been upgraded to an 8X model. Otherwise, specs remain unchanged from the previous Core 2 Duo MacBook offerings, including the integrated graphics that share memory with the system RAM. Like the other two MacBook models, this configuration comes with built-in support for 802.11n wireless networking.

With a DVD-burning SuperDrive and roomy 120GB hard drive, the mid-range MacBook provides the best value among the updated laptops. Despite the integrated graphics, these latest MacBooks perform very well with the latest Universal version of Photoshop.

Pros: Slightly faster CPU; larger hard drive; 802.11n wireless enabled; sturdy but elegant design; great glossy screen; 8x SuperDrive; built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth; integrated iSight camera; good battery life.

Cons: Mediocre graphics performance limits appeal for gaming; no expansion card slot.
